Uncommon Schools seeks an experienced Special Education Teacher to join our Roxbury Prep team.

About the Role:

This position will provide academic, emotional, and physical support to students with special needs while maintaining high expectations. The successful candidate will work closely with general education teachers, school leaders, and families to develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

The ideal candidate will have experience modifying and differentiating instruction for diverse learners, as well as analyzing data to inform instructional decisions. A strong commitment to supporting students' social-emotional development and a passion for creating inclusive learning environments are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with families and Special Education teams to develop 504 and IEPs
  • Modify and differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs
  • Analyze data to inform instructional decisions and ensure compliance with IEPs
  • Participate in weekly school-wide meetings to cultivate community and encourage student achievement
  • Partner with grade-level teams to develop academic goals and practice instructional strategies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • MA special education license or equivalent issued by another state
  • Prior experience working with students with special needs and collaborating with families and educators

Compensation:

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
