Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join our team at Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of neurodiagnostic studies, including electroencephalograms (EEGs), evoked potentials, and specialized laboratory studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct EEG and evoked potential recordings according to laboratory standards
  • Measure and apply electrodes accurately, ensuring impedance meets laboratory standards
  • Recognize and document artifacts, eliminating or taking proper measures to monitor them
  • Report critical test results to interpreting physicians and supervisors, documenting findings
  • Clearly explain test procedures to patients and family members, ensuring complete understanding and cooperation
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field or higher from an accredited college or university
  • Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) accredited Neurodiagnostic (NDT) program
  • Registered through the Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation Board (ABRET)
  • 3+ years of experience performing neurodiagnostic procedures in a patient care environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
  • Registered in EEG (R. EEG T.) through the Neurodiagnostic credentialing board ABRET
Work Environment

This position requires working in a patient care area, with exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent must be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
