We are currently seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to join our Traffic Engineering Group in our office. As a Traffic Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including traffic signal design, signing and marking, maintenance of traffic, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop traffic signals, signing, and marking plans
  • Conduct traffic safety and operations studies
  • Develop and apply traffic modeling software, including Synchro, SimTraffic, VISSIM, and VISUM
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with clients and project teams to deliver high-quality results

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in traffic engineering
  • Basic understanding of traffic modeling (macro, meso, and micro)
  • Experience with traffic modeling software, including VISSIM, VISUM, HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, CORSIM, and Quickzone
  • Experience in the design of traffic control devices, including signals, signing, maintenance of traffic, pavement markings, ITS devices, and lighting
  • Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, and Highway Safety Manual
  • Licensed as a Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred
  • Experience working on PennDOT projects a plus
  • Experience working with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Exceptional communication, technical writing, and organizational skills
