Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Railcar Mechanic to join our team at Rescar Companies. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our railcar equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and repair railcar equipment, including truck assemblies, safety appliances, brake systems, wheels, and draft systems
  • Diagnose and identify malfunctions in railcar equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating equipment
  • Test and operate engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a mechanical or maintenance role preferred
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
