Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at Wilkes-Barre Hospital Company. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients for testing purposes. You will work closely with our laboratory team to ensure accurate and efficient sample collection and processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture, heel sticks, and finger sticks
  • Properly identify patients and follow procedures for specimen collection
  • Enter information from blood collection into the laboratory computer system
  • Collect chain of custody urine drug screens for pre-employment, post-accident, and just cause cases
  • Perform other related functions as assigned by the Phlebotomy Supervisor
Requirements
  • Completion of a formal training course in phlebotomy procedures from an accredited school or training program
  • One year of phlebotomy experience preferred
  • Public relations skills and verbal ability to communicate with patients
  • Finger and manual dexterity to handle small equipment
  • Finger sensitivity to locate veins
  • BLS certification required
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver License required
