We are seeking a highly motivated Production Line Specialist to join our team at Krier Foods in Random Lake, WI. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing lines.

Job Description

  • Operating Machines Safely

Operate machinery within safety and quality standards, adhering to good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and job specifications.

Maintaining Quality Standards

Ensure proper PPE is utilized, and forklift compliance is maintained (if applicable). Responsible for reading and comprehending job standards, packaging requirements, and meeting quality standards and specifications for products.

Monitoring Equipment Performance

Monitor equipment operation to ensure that the appropriate product is produced to the correct amount, graphics, wrap, and coding.

Troubleshooting Issues

Operate machine controls and make minor adjustments while monitoring the line for proper operation and performing final case inspections every hour.

Assisting with Production Setup

Closely monitor production equipment for jams, making necessary adjustments, and ensuring the availability and application of materials.

Supporting Team Efforts

Assist in setting up production lines to ensure product type of materials (including proper graphics if required), size of trays, proper cans and can ends, labels, and coder set.

Improving Efficiency

Able to quickly troubleshoot issues on equipment, resolve problems, and keep the production line moving.

Maintaining Records

Follow all customer standards/specifications, quality requirements, Federal, State, and Local regulations. Maintain a clean work area by appropriately handling all recyclables and trash; re-working miss-packs during and at end of shift.

Documenting Progress

Complete required documentation accurately and completely as required for the equipment being operated and document line issues.

Other Responsibilities

Will learn how to sanitize machines, fill in on any lines or projects as needed, and perform other duties assigned by management.

What We're Looking For

  • Manufacturing Experience

Experience with machinery in manufacturing, production, or beverage environments is required.

Problem-Solving Skills

A can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed. Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment issues on the fly.

Requirements

  • Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Training

Forklift experience a plus; 6 months previous manufacturing experience preferred, with experience in the Food and Beverage industry preferred.

Certifications

Required to fully comply with Quality Management System Policies and Procedures and Food Safety Management requirements.

Overtime

Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Safety Training

Required to be forklift certified by Krier Foods, Inc. before operating any company-owned forklift (if applicable).

Excellent prioritization skills and ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail.

Ability to work independently without direct supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical Activity

Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, sitting, twisting, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and climbing), perform repetitive motions for an extended period (up to 2-3 hours), and lift up to 50 lbs.

Vision

Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, general labor, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., inspection, etc.).

Work Environment

Ability to work in various conditions with exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust, and fumes.

Climbing Stairs

Must be able to climb stairs.

Tolerating Heat

Ability to tolerate the heat.
