Compensation: $15-20, Depending upon experience and certifications
Job Overview: Engages in the upkeep, restoration, and enhancement of railroad rolling stock in compliance with Federal and Company standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Repair, restore, and construct railroad car rolling stock, including but not limited to windows, walls, HVAC, water and waste systems, woodworking, metal fabrication, electrical work, painting, and plumbing.
- Conduct routine maintenance on generator railcars.
- Perform daily and periodic inspections of equipment to identify necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Assist in the repair and installation of HVAC systems for railcars.
- Adhere to GSMR procedures, safety protocols, and operational guidelines.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure passengers/guests have positive experiences.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
- The ideal candidate should possess a willingness to learn and acquire additional experience and/or certifications.
- Skills required include woodworking, metal fabrication, welding, basic plumbing, basic electrical work, painting, HVAC, and demolition.
- Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English are essential.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 12 hours.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to navigate train steps/ladders and crawl around locomotive and passenger cars while performing maintenance tasks.
- Good balance and coordination: able to walk on moving trains and uneven surfaces that may be wet/slippery while carrying tools and parts.
- Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask while prioritizing workload with a practical and innovative approach.
- Ability to effectively communicate with diverse personalities and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Must possess the physical agility to climb, crawl, stoop, and bend while performing assigned tasks.
- Ability to work in confined spaces is required.
- Compliance with Pre-Employment & Random Drug Testing as per company policy.
- A valid Driver License and the ability to pass a DMV check are necessary.
- Must successfully complete a WorkSTEPS physical test and respiratory FIT test.
- Work on and off the train in various terrains and weather conditions during both day and night.
- Engage in various shop settings, including the railyard.
- May be required to work in different locations and adverse weather conditions to perform repairs.
