About the Role

The University of Wisconsin is seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our data analytics team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining databases, data warehouses, and data models to support analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Design and Development: Assess, design, implement, and maintain databases, data warehouses, and data models to support analysis and reporting.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization: Provide advanced operational support and develop and facilitate training on data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Server Management: Maintain the Tableau server to ensure server balance, performance, and maintenance.
  • Project Management: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of data warehouses and data models to support analysis and reporting.
  • Training and Development: Identify, develop, and facilitate training opportunities regarding data sets and programs.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other IT professionals to develop data warehousing design guidelines and effective use of tools for building and managing data models for data warehouses.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar data engineer, design, or reporting role.
  • Skills: Experience with SQL, Python, Tableau Server, Tableau Desktop, and Data Prep; successful data project management experience working with a variety of data sources; Tableau Certifications; data analysis, presentation, and visualization experience; server management and data organization experience.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills required; ability to multi-task across departments in the division learning all aspects of Athletic business.
