Job Overview

Bitcoin Depot is in search of a Bank Secrecy Act Officer tasked with managing the Company's compliance framework. This role encompasses a variety of regulatory obligations, including:

  • Bank Secrecy Act (BSA);
  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML);
  • Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations and sanctions; and
  • Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) policies.

This position is designed to be remote.

Key Responsibilities

The BSA Officer will lead a team dedicated to compliance activities, ensuring the effectiveness of the overall compliance structure. Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the Company's designated BSA Officer and OFAC Officer;
  • Reporting compliance metrics to the Compliance Officer and executive leadership;
  • Acting as the primary liaison for regulatory examinations and audits;
  • Maintaining comprehensive BSA/AML/OFAC compliance policies;
  • Providing guidance and mentorship on BSA/AML/OFAC matters;
  • Registering as the primary contact for the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) 314b and assisting with law enforcement inquiries;
  • Offering compliance insights for new initiatives;
  • Identifying and reporting any staffing or technology issues affecting compliance;
  • Overseeing program reviews, procedure development, risk assessments, and training initiatives;
  • Supporting Model Risk Management (MRM) activities;
  • Facilitating international compliance efforts; and
  • Assisting with Vendor Management and Business Continuity strategies.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of six years of relevant compliance experience across various regulatory topics;
  • Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to influence stakeholders;
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects;
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations impacting financial services and cryptocurrency;
  • Understanding of compliance risks and internal control frameworks;
  • Analytical skills with the ability to summarize findings effectively;
  • Capacity to quickly comprehend complex processes and identify risks;
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset;
  • Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Experience in a Money Services Business (MSB) environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
