Job Summary:

A skilled LPN Inpatient Oncology professional is required to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The ideal candidate will possess strong nursing principles and practice skills, as well as knowledge of organizational functions, policies, and regulations.

Education and Experience:
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills.
  • Knowledge of organizational functions, policies, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of current trends and new developments.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of nursing, applicable to those areas requiring special education.
Requirements:
  • Must be licensed as an LPN in the State of Tennessee.
  • IV certification within seven (7) months of hire.
  • BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and to be maintained going forward.
Department Position Summary:

The LPN Inpatient Oncology professional will work on various medical/surgical units or specialty areas based on staffing needs. Assignments may vary from day to day. The individual must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit.

The LPN Inpatient Oncology professional will contribute to the nursing assessment by collecting, reporting, and documenting objective and subjective data in an accurate and timely manner. They will also notify the appropriate nursing team members/team leaders and medical staff of changes in the patient's status.

The LPN Inpatient Oncology professional will participate in the revisions to the patient care plan when appropriate and assist with administration and delivery of medications, treatments, and other patient care duties as ordered by the physician.
