Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $21 to $26 per hour, depending on your qualifications, skills, and experience. Our expectation is that you'll work out of the Calistoga, CA area, but we may consider other locations. Please note that the actual compensation offered will depend on various factors, including market data.

Job Description

We're currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Sales Associate to join our team at Sterling Vineyards in Napa Valley. As a key member of our hospitality team, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences, promoting our wines, and contributing to the success of our retail operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and host wine tastings and tours for guests
  • Act as a backup for other Hospitality Specialists during tastings and tours
  • Manage breaks and lunches for assigned team members during daily shifts
  • Train hospitality staff to achieve financial results and meet guest experience expectations
  • Operate cash registers
  • Promote wine clubs
  • Pack wine for retail orders
  • Assist in events, private dinners, and site activities
  • Assist the Merchandise Department with restocking, inventory, and floor upkeep
  • Provide world-class customer service to site visitors
  • Follow site policies and procedures
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in wine sales, restaurant, and/or hospitality service
  • Self-motivation, high organization, and minimal day-to-day direction
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong knowledge of the Napa Valley area, food, and wine market (preferred)
  • A basic understanding of wine and winemaking
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other Company locations
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Age 21 or older
  • A clean, professional appearance and ability to represent TWE internally and externally
