Role Summary:

The Medical Imaging Specialist is responsible for operating radiographic equipment to capture images of specific body areas as directed by healthcare providers. This role involves preparing patients for examinations, adjusting equipment settings, and ensuring optimal imaging conditions.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography (ARRT-R)
  • Required: Radiologic Tech (RT) certification in the state of practice
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification
  • Preferred: Fluoroscopy license in the state of employment
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts imaging procedures for diagnostic purposes, providing clear explanations to patients and addressing their inquiries.
  • Prepares and maintains imaging equipment and examination rooms for patient procedures.
  • Positions patients accurately for imaging and monitors their safety throughout the process.
  • Generates high-quality diagnostic images and documents relevant exam details, communicating significant findings to the physician.
  • Utilizes PACS for exam verification and management.
  • Administers precise doses of radiation for therapeutic purposes and conducts bone density assessments.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
