Job Summary

Natividad Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Staff Services Manager to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the daily operations of the Medical Staff Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise daily administrative operations of the medical staff section.
  • Monitor and analyze administrative operational procedures, conduct studies, and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate physician credentialing process, ensure timely filings, and monitor for regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate TJC accreditation process for medical staff services.
  • Monitor and coordinate Quality Assurance Activities for medical staff services.
  • Develop and implement medical staff administrative systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Supervise the maintenance of Division credential and peer review files and records of all Medical Staff members.
  • Act as a resource person to the Medical Staff Organization, interpreting Medical Staff by-laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Supervise and coordinate the scheduling of medical staff committee meetings and monthly on-call schedules.
  • Meet with hospital personnel, physicians, and patients regarding complaints and issues.
Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of business administration and office management principles.
  • Principles and methods of supervision and management, including work planning, analysis, and organization.
  • Capabilities and applications of electronic management information systems.
  • Typical administrative policies, bylaws, regulations, and procedures used in healthcare organizations.
  • Techniques of effective report writing and office correspondence.
  • Ability to analyze information, problems, conditions, situations, policies, and procedures, and recommend effective changes.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of medical staff, County employees, officials of other agencies, and members of the public.
Education and Experience

A combination of experience, education, and/or training that substantially demonstrates the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Option I: Associate Science Degree in Medical Staff Management and one year of experience performing administrative support duties in a healthcare setting.

Option II: Any combination of training, education, and experience that provides at least three years of work experience performing administrative support duties in a healthcare setting, with at least one year in a first-line supervisory or office management level.

Registration as Medical Staff Services Professional or a Bachelor's Degree in a health-related discipline is desirable.
