POSITION SUMMARY: The General Medical/Neurology unit is a 26-bed adult medical-surgical facility that caters to a diverse patient demographic experiencing various health challenges. This includes patients with conditions such as UTIs, pneumonia, cardiac issues, and neurological disorders like strokes and seizures. The team also addresses behavioral health concerns.

This role involves assisting with patient care tasks and non-nursing responsibilities under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and in collaboration with other nursing personnel.

The position requires providing care to individuals across all age groups, from infants to seniors, ensuring that services are tailored to the developmental and functional age of each patient.

Employees are expected to actively participate in fulfilling the mission of Blessing Hospital, demonstrating behaviors that align with the organization's core values while supporting its strategic objectives and commitment to patient safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or, at least 16 years of age with an active C.N.A. certification.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Must hold one of the following certifications: C.N.A. (not applicable for PCA, SNA, or PCT roles).
  • PCA or SNA candidates must have completed one of the following:
    • Patient Care Experience
    • A C.N.A. Program
    • At least the sophomore year of a nursing program

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification in good standing on the state Nurse Aide Registry, or Certified Medical Assistant, or EMS certification (not applicable for PCA, SNA, or PCT roles).

PAY STATUS: NON-EXEMPT HOURLY
