Position Overview

The role involves the operation of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), subsea tooling, and various systems including IWOCS and RWOCS, ensuring safety and efficiency. Responsibilities also include the maintenance and repair of all associated electronic, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, encompassing component repair, replacement, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Operate equipment such as cameras (video and still), acoustic positioning systems, sonars, robotic arms, Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS), hydraulic power units, and complex subsea tooling.
  • Assist in piloting the ROV, evaluating environmental conditions and hazards, and navigating using acoustics, sonar, and visual methods.

Maintenance and Repairs:

Perform maintenance and repairs on electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, utilizing test equipment, calibration, and alignment procedures, while ensuring general housekeeping and corrosion control.


  • Operate and repair electrical over hydraulic and direct hydraulic control systems interacting with pumps, valves, and other hydraulic transmission equipment.
  • Interface with subsea navigational equipment, including magnetic compasses, gyros, transducers, sonars, altimeters, and associated survey tools.
  • Integrate and operate various tooling, including cutters, pump units, multipurpose skids, dredging systems, and standalone sensory systems.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and supplies related to all electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic assemblies.
Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • 12 to 18 months of formal training in mechanical and hydraulic systems, along with 12 to 18 months of formal training in electrical and electronics; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain a valid Passport and any other necessary offshore work documentation.

PREFERRED

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Technical or Associate degree.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is classified as OFFSHORE WORK, characterized by:

  • Working outdoors and indoors, during both day and night, often over or near water.
  • Engaging with moving and vibrating equipment.
  • Frequent exposure to high humidity, elevated noise levels, and intense lighting conditions.
  • Potential exposure to open flames, sparks, and airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
  • Working on stable surfaces at elevated heights.
