Chemistry Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified Chemistry Instructor to join our faculty at Alpena Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a full range of Chemistry courses, including lecture and laboratory portions.

• Teach Chemistry courses to students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
• Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students and the college.
• Evaluate student progress through examinations, quizzes, and laboratory reports.
• Provide individual academic advising and consultation to students as needed.
• Maintain instructional laboratories and equipment, and order supplies and materials as required.
• Participate in college committee work and program advisory committee activities.
• Contribute to curriculum development, revisions, and evaluation activities.
• Engage in professional development activities to maintain academic competency.

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience and/or five years of post-graduate work experience in a related field.
• Computer experience in MS Office and computerized lab equipment.
• Experience in curriculum development.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
