Role Overview:
The selected Physician Assistant will work closely with Dr. Brusalis, a specialist in complex and minimally invasive shoulder surgeries. Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting initial and follow-up patient evaluations.
- Managing office tasks and assisting in the operating room.
- Providing patient and family education regarding surgical procedures.
- Addressing pre-operative and post-operative inquiries.
- Acting as the primary surgical assistant during operations.
Work Environment:
This position does not require weekend shifts or overnight calls. However, effective collaboration with both outpatient staff and inpatient teams is crucial for delivering high-quality patient care.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current New York State PA License.
- BLS/ACLS certification.
- NCCPA board certification.
- Infection Control Certification and completion of a child abuse recognition course.
Additionally, strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit are essential. Previous surgical experience or training is preferred.
