- Strong passion for mathematics and working with students, with proficiency at least through Algebra 1; candidates with higher-level math skills (Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus) are preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal abilities, capable of engaging with students and inspiring them to excel in a fun learning atmosphere.
- Willingness to learn and undergo training, with a requirement to complete 15-20 hours of training within the first month of employment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, working with several students on different topics simultaneously while providing constructive feedback.
- Professional demeanor and effective communication skills, maintaining friendly interactions with parents, students, and colleagues.
- Availability to work a minimum of 6-10 hours across at least two shifts during the week and weekend, with potential for up to 20-25 hours in some cases.
- Implement the Mathnasium Method and instructional strategies.
- Maintain good availability for work and provide timely updates regarding your schedule.
- Continuously strive for excellence as an instructor.
- Demonstrate retention of training information and participate in staff meetings regularly.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.
- Encourage students through praise and constructive feedback.
- Support the administrative functions of the center and help maintain a clean and organized environment.
Instruction is typically available during the following hours:
- Monday - Thursday from 3 PM - 8 PM
- Saturday from 10 AM - 2 PM (some locations)
- Sunday from 1 PM - 6 PM
Team meetings are generally held every 4-6 weeks.
All candidates will be required to demonstrate math proficiency through a literacy test and complete necessary background checks.
