Mechanical Assembler Job Description

At SITE Staffing, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team. As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling machine parts and components according to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare kits of machine parts for assembly, including reviewing and building manuals with drawings and bill-of-materials.
  • Receive and review shop orders for jobs and steps of assembly, using computerized Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERPS) and job orders for labor tracking.
  • Inspect and prepare parts, which may involve removing small quantities of metal to reduce sharp edges and produce a close fit between parts.
  • Operate powered industrial trucks or cranes to move large components or pallets of machine parts.
  • Perform secondary machining operations in metal or plastic pieces using hand tools.
  • Align components and attach them with bolts, screws, or various hardware.
  • Install moving parts, such as gears, shafts, levers, or bearings, and verify correct operation of components.
  • Bend and install pipe for pneumatic systems.
  • Align and mesh gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears.
  • Use precision measuring and gauging devices.
  • Test or assist in testing operation of completed product.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read and follow instructions and specifications.
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment.
