Job Overview

Position Summary:

We are in search of a dedicated and Board-Certified MRI Specialist to become a vital part of our distinguished sports medicine and orthopedic practice. Our clinic is committed to delivering exceptional care to patients both locally and globally.

The MRI Specialist will play a crucial role in providing top-notch diagnostic imaging services focused on orthopedic ailments and injuries. This role demands proficiency in MRI techniques, a comprehensive understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy, and a commitment to compassionate patient service.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive certified MRI Technologist to collaborate with our healthcare team. Our MRI services are situated within our clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct accurate MRI scans on patients with orthopedic issues, following physician directives and established clinical guidelines.
  • Work closely with orthopedic surgeons and medical staff to acquire diagnostic images that facilitate precise diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Carefully position patients on the MRI machine, providing necessary support and clear instructions to ensure optimal imaging quality while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
  • Modify MRI equipment settings and imaging techniques as needed to capture detailed images of bones, joints, soft tissues, and other musculoskeletal structures.
  • Monitor patients throughout the MRI process, addressing any concerns or discomfort promptly to ensure their well-being and cooperation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, imaging data, and procedural details, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Educate patients about the MRI procedure, including preparation guidelines and what to expect, to enhance their understanding and cooperation.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating MRI appointments, ensuring an efficient workflow and timely access to diagnostic services for orthopedic patients.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions to review patient care plans, share insights from MRI findings, and contribute to comprehensive treatment strategies.
  • Stay informed about advancements in orthopedic imaging technology and techniques, participating in ongoing education and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate effectively with the imaging department team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state licensure or certification to practice as an MRI Technologist.
  • Prior experience as an MRI Technologist in an orthopedic or musculoskeletal imaging environment is preferred.
  • Expertise in musculoskeletal MRI imaging techniques, with a solid understanding of orthopedic conditions and anatomy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with orthopedic surgeons, patients, and healthcare team members.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while working efficiently in a dynamic clinical setting.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, focusing on delivering compassionate and personalized services to orthopedic patients.
  • National registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to assist patients with mobility challenges, including lifting and positioning as necessary for MRI scans.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate MRI equipment and perform technical tasks accurately.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and navigate the MRI suite comfortably.
  • Effective communication skills with patients and healthcare team members, including those requiring special accommodations.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, along with standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling required regularly throughout a typical work shift.

Working Environment:

  • Work primarily occurs in an orthopedic clinic setting, with exposure to patients of various ages and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and infection control measures to maintain a clean and safe MRI environment.
  • Occasional involvement in interdisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, or outreach events to support the clinic's mission.
