Job Summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing patients and safely performing routine nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Lead departmental programs, protocol development, and quality initiatives
  • Assist in the orientation and training of junior staff
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Registered in Nuclear Medicine by the ARRT or equivalent body
  • Current license in the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare experience
Physical and Environmental Demands

The physical essential functions of this job include frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force.
