Seasonal Lifeguard

Charlotte County, FL is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquatic Safety and Rescue Specialist to join our team on a seasonal basis. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for maintaining safe swimming conditions, enforcing established rules and regulations, and rescuing those in distress. This is a critical role that requires a high level of physical fitness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

• Monitor Swimming Conditions: Ensure the safety of swimmers by monitoring the pool area and enforcing rules and regulations.
• Rescue and Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, rescue swimmers in distress, and administer first aid and CPR as needed.
• Water Quality and Maintenance: Conduct water quality testing, maintain the pool and surrounding areas, and ensure compliance with established water quality standards.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, respond to customer inquiries, and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties, including data entry, report writing, and other tasks as assigned.

• Education and Experience: Six months of experience in lifeguarding or aquatic instruction, or a related field.
• Certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguard or nationally recognized equivalent, CPR/AED certification for Professional Rescuers, and Standard First Aid.
• Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work well under pressure, and physical fitness to perform rescue tasks.

This is a seasonal position that requires working in an outdoor environment, exposed to various weather conditions. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and have sufficient strength to control struggling adult swimmers.
