About the Role

The Assembly Technician will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the equipment used to create electronic circuits and Surface Mount Technology at r2 Technologies, Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain SMT equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Verify PCB identification, program name, conveyor width, solder paste, and mistake proofing to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Troubleshoot various pieces of equipment to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Perform operation, setup, and product changeover, adhering to manufacturing instructions and quality control standards.
  • Install and repair other electronics components, such as resistors and capacitors, as needed.
  • Conduct visual inspections of SMT assemblies to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate job tracking records, including production metrics and quality control data.
  • Stay knowledgeable of manufacturing instructions and adapt to changes as needed.
  • Perform all levels of preventive maintenance on SMT equipment, ensuring optimal performance and extending equipment lifespan.
  • Occasionally change feeders, splice reels, and scan parts to maintain efficient production.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including practicing 6S principles.
Requirements
  • Focus on Quality Control, ensuring accurate assembly and minimal defects.
  • Develop a safety management mindset, prioritizing employee and equipment safety.
  • Demonstrate dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble small parts and components.
  • Able to identify electronic components, polarities, and location designators.
  • Understand Bill of Materials and Drawings, ensuring accurate assembly and production.
  • Exhibit reliable attendance, attention to detail, and organizational skills, prioritizing productivity and efficiency.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of pick and place automated assembly machines and SMT equipment operation.
