Position Overview
The primary goal of this role is to ensure that all facilities are maintained in a pristine condition. The following outlines the essential duties and responsibilities expected of our janitorial staff, serving as a guideline for effective building maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize industrial cleaning equipment to sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, and polish floors.
- Perform cleaning tasks on walls, ceilings, and light fixtures, including dusting and washing.
- Relocate furniture and equipment as necessary to facilitate thorough cleaning.
- Address stains on various surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents.
- Engage in seasonal maintenance tasks such as snow removal and lawn care.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas, including offices, break rooms, and restrooms.
Specific Area Responsibilities
Carpeted Areas:
- Regularly empty waste receptacles and replace liners.
- Dust and clean office furniture surfaces.
- Vacuum carpets and spot clean as needed.
- Ensure lobby glass doors are clean.
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, chairs, and appliances.
- Keep sink and counter areas tidy.
- Sanitize toilets, sinks, and floors.
- Restock restroom supplies as necessary.
- Perform sweeping and mopping of tile floors.
- Dust and clean surfaces in non-carpeted areas.
Periodic Duties
Conduct deep cleaning tasks such as:
- Cleaning overhead vents and dusting high surfaces.
- Polishing wood furniture and interior glass.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Familiarity with basic cleaning procedures and equipment.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
- Willingness to participate in training and safety sessions.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in janitorial or custodial roles is advantageous.
Work Environment
This position involves working in various office settings, requiring safety precautions and the ability to adapt to different conditions. Regular exposure to cleaning products and moderate noise levels is expected.
