Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Specialist is primarily engaged in the manufacturing of wire harnesses, while also supporting the Quality Management System. Key responsibilities include ensuring adherence to quality manufacturing processes, identifying process gaps, conducting inspections at various stages, performing testing, developing and reviewing documentation, assisting in root cause analysis and corrective actions, and executing inspections of incoming materials.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting inspections of output samples utilizing industry-standard methods, including comparison to specifications, measuring dimensions, electrical testing, and functionality assessments.
  • Ensuring compliance of assembly or production lines with established standards and legal requirements.
  • Reviewing technical drawings and specifications to validate produced items.
  • Documenting inspection outcomes by completing reports, summarizing reworks and waste, and entering data into the quality database.
  • Assisting in the inspection of First Articles and preparing FAI Reports in line with AS9102 standards.
  • Performing receiving inspections of incoming materials, verifying quantities, documentation, and condition.
  • Supporting audits of quality processes.
  • Training production personnel on quality control practices to enhance product quality.
  • Recommending enhancements to production processes.
  • Reviewing production workflows and aiding in the development of production travelers.
  • Assisting in the manufacturing of items as required.
  • Monitoring equipment usage to ensure safety and discarding non-compliant items.
  • Engaging in continuous education and training to maintain job knowledge.
  • Overseeing the Measurement Device Control (calibration) program to ensure accurate operation of measurement tools and initiating repairs as necessary.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and radiographs.
  • Utilizing measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers for product assessment.
  • Gathering and analyzing statistical quality data.
  • Contributing to the development of testing methods, inspection plans, and data sheets.
  • Identifying causes of product defects and reworks.
  • Conducting terminal pull tests to confirm the proper functioning of calibrated equipment.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of IPC-620 (current certification preferred).
  • Basic understanding of AS9100 standards.
  • Familiarity with programming and operating wire harness testing equipment, including multimeters and CIRRIS testers.
  • Experience in auditing quality processes is preferred.

Physical Demands:

The role may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing. It may involve typing and reading from a computer screen. Sufficient mobility is necessary, including bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to fulfill daily responsibilities efficiently. Due to parking and location, moderate to long-distance walking may be necessary. The ability to lift, move, and transport items over 10 pounds frequently is required.


Work Environment:

Work is primarily conducted in an indoor office setting, with potential outdoor tasks depending on specific assignments. The indoor environment may include offices or cubicles with close quarters, varying noise levels, and lighting conditions. Outdoor work may expose employees to different weather conditions during travel.
