As the Software Engineering Team Leader, you will oversee, nurture, and enhance a team of Software Engineers tasked with designing, implementing, and documenting modifications to both new and existing data-centric cloud applications for Clarivate Analytics US LLC.
Your team will concentrate on developing innovative approaches to manage extensive data sets. Focus Areas:
- All facets of the ETL process, including handling unstructured and semi-structured data.
- Transforming data into clean, actionable data warehouses for business applications.
Collaboration:
In this role, it is crucial to cultivate strong relationships across various departments within Clarivate, including development, product management, quality assurance, DevOps, and professional services, at both technical and non-technical levels. You will also serve as a liaison to other development centers within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in leading and managing engineering teams while delivering business solutions.
- 3-5 years of experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., EMR, EC2, S3, RDS).
- Over 5 years of experience in guiding teams to successful project completion.
- Extensive experience in developing complex, large-scale system applications.
- Proficiency in dimensional modeling and ETL process design and implementation.
- Programming experience in PHP, Python, Perl, or Java for data development.
- Familiarity with SQL databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL).
- Experience in a Unix/Linux environment.
- Over 5 years of experience working on Agile development teams.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience collaborating with global teams.
What You Will Do:
- Lead a Software Engineering team focused on ETL and data initiatives in a cloud environment.
- Ensure your team operates efficiently and delivers high-quality results on schedule.
- Guide your team in creating innovative solutions for collecting, cleaning, and validating both structured and unstructured data, as well as developing and implementing technical designs and data architectures.
- Engage with your team daily, remaining hands-on and delving into the code and technology.
- Manage the quarterly planning cycle for Clarivate, ensuring successful delivery for your development teams.
Collaborate with the Product Manager to prioritize the data team's backlog, supporting both quarterly and long-term product planning. Work alongside the Quality team to validate all features through test automation. Partner with the DevOps team to facilitate Continuous Delivery, enabling confident releases across environments.
Assist in defining the preferred technology stack, including identifying optimal cloud solutions for specific use cases and determining the development languages for delivering our platform services. Mentor your team of Engineers, fostering skill enhancement and career growth. Attract and recruit new Software Engineers to expand our team. Coordinate development activities with teams across various locations.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, permanent position.
