Job Title: Nuclear Contract - Nuclear Medical Technologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medical Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and operate cameras to detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical factors accurately.
  • Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS.
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning.
  • Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
  • Lock/tag out equipment if necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Call hours required.

Qualifications:

  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification.
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Passionate about patient care.
  • Minimum of 2 years of current Nuclear Med Tech experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Nuclear Medical Tech program.
  • Active unencumbered Nuclear Medical Tech Maryland state license.
  • One year of Cerner experience.

  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving expertise.
  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers, and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
