Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Soliant. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • IEP Development and Implementation: Develop and implement IEPs that cater to the unique needs of each student, ensuring they receive the support and accommodations necessary to succeed.
  • Supportive Learning Environment: Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement, growth, and social-emotional development.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Provide differentiated instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying learning styles and abilities.
  • Progress Monitoring and Assessment: Assess and monitor student progress, documenting achievements and identifying areas for improvement to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other teachers, specialists, and parents to ensure effective communication and coordination of services, promoting a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
  • Instructional Strategies and Resources: Utilize a variety of instructional techniques, materials, and resources to enhance student learning and engagement, including assistive technology and adaptive equipment as needed.
  • Social-Emotional Development and Behavior Management: Monitor and address students' social-emotional development, behavior management, and self-regulation skills, providing targeted support and interventions as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Special Education: A Master's degree in Special Education is preferred, but a Bachelor's degree with relevant experience may be considered.
  • Teaching Certificate or Credential: A valid teaching certificate or credential in Special Education is required.
  • IEP Experience and Skills: Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the ability to develop and implement them effectively is essential.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and support staff.
