Job Summary

M. A. Mortenson is seeking a skilled Laborer Journeyman to join our team. As a Laborer Journeyman, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful completion of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operations: Safely operate and maintain heavy equipment, including forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.
  • Scaffolding and Rigging: Erect, dismantle, and maintain scaffolding and staging systems.
  • Ground Preparation: Level and prepare ground surfaces for construction activities.
  • Mortar and Grout Application: Mix, apply, and finish mortar and grout for various construction projects.
  • Cleanup and Debris Removal: Clean and clear debris from construction sites, including sweeping, washing, and unloading or burning debris.
  • Concrete Placement: Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete for various construction projects.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all construction activities are performed in accordance with company standards and quality control procedures.
  • Team Leadership: Provide work direction and guidance to Laborer I, II, Helpers, and Apprentices.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Effectively work and build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Ability to work with tools and equipment, including power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers.
  • Soft Skills: Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and active listening skills.
