Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Los Alamos Medical Center. As a Pacu Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a culture of safety and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
  • Document patient care given and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Current NM licensure or appropriate RN compact licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) current upon hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)/ENPC must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
