The University of Southern California's Viterbi School of Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Computer Systems Engineer to join our Reconfigurable Computing Group (RCG). As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research and development projects in the area of CAD tools for FPGA hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop automated hardware testing to validate functionality of a range of FPGA and eFPGA families and resources.
  • Actively participate in developing techniques and tools to characterize and analyze the health of FPGA devices.
  • Collaborate with a high-caliber team to create EDA tools for trusted and assured computing.

Requirements:

  • PhD or MS and equivalent experience in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Strong software development (C++/Java/Python) and hardware design (VHDL/Verilog/System Verilog) experience.
  • Expert level use of Xilinx, Intel, or Lattice FPGA implementation tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using or contributing to open-source EDA tools such as Torc, RapidWright, ABC, VPR, VTR, RapidSmith, nextpnr, prjXray.
  • Understanding of Machine Learning with applications to hardware systems, including training and inference.

  • An annual base salary range of $132,700 - $150,000.
