Custodial Worker

La Plata County is seeking a skilled Custodial Worker to join our team. As a Custodial Worker, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance of County buildings, facilities, grounds, and/or equipment.

• Dusts and cleans furniture, equipment, and surfaces
• Washes windows, walls, and floors
• Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms
• Vacuums, sweeps, and mops floors
• Operates floor cleaning machines and equipment
• Places hazard signs to ensure public safety
• Collects and disposes of refuse
• Cleans and polishes furniture and equipment
• Cleans sidewalks and outside areas
• Operates portable cleaners and equipment
• Assists with room and event setup
• Performs other light building maintenance and manual tasks

• No prior education required
• One to two years of progressively responsible related experience
• Ability to operate and maintain equipment
• Effective oral communication skills
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents
