About the Role

Kettering Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the surgical team in preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing essential support during procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, ensuring a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff.
  • Prepare and pass surgical instruments to the surgeon and assistants, under the direction of the RN and the surgeon.
  • Handle patient specimens appropriately and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in preoperative and postoperative care as directed by the RN.
  • Assist with patient transport and other patient care duties in the OR.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Surgical Technology from a NBSTA accredited program or certification from NCCT; or
  • Four (4) years of experience as a surgical technologist with a High School Diploma; or
  • Four (4) years applicable on-the-job or military surgical technology training with a High School Diploma
Preferred Qualifications
  • Surgical Technology skills required, preferably in a hospital operating room environment
  • Experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred
  • Customer service skills
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and function in a high-stress environment
