Job Summary:

The Safety Training Specialist will contribute to the development and implementation of training content related to operational needs. This includes providing training for new hire orientation, re-training of existing staff, and implementation of new training initiatives. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and public speaking skills, as well as the ability to simplify complex ideas to ensure all participants grasp the training content.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to training content and development related to operational needs.
  • Provide training for new hire orientation, re-training of existing staff, implementation of new training initiatives, and changes to current processes.
  • Oversee the production and distribution of classroom handouts, instructional materials, aids, and manuals.
  • Deliver new hire orientation, as well as customer- or job-specific training courses.
  • Deliver training programs that will improve employee performance and meet organizational goals.
  • Maintain training records in a learning management system.
  • Assist in multiple training events in a corporate or community-based setting utilizing traditional or modern job training methods.
  • Promote continuous improvement of the corporate training program.
Requirements:
  • Must be bilingual (English, Spanish)
  • Experience in Telecommunications Utility preferred
  • At least 4 years of experience as a Trainer
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills
  • Have current, or be able to obtain, OSHA 500 certification (Five years of construction safety experience, or three years of experience and one of the following: College degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including (but not limited to) Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
