Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Saint Alphonsus Health System. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing various medical laboratory procedures in the Clinical Laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform tests related to the diagnosis and treatment of patients by utilizing various medical laboratory procedures in the Clinical Laboratory.
  • Correlate and integrate other patient data when interpreting test results.
  • Use professional judgment and have an in-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques, scientific principles, quality control, and instrument maintenance.
  • Recognize problems, identify causes, and determine alternative methods and solutions.
  • Work independently and troubleshoot analyzers by calling technical support, etc.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or equivalent certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required or registry eligible and obtained within 1 year of hire date.
  • Completion of medical technology training required.
  • Experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.
