Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN Oncology Specialist to join our team at Prokatchers. As a Travel Nurse RN Oncology Specialist, you will provide high-quality patient care in a hospital setting, working with a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.
- Consult on special patient cases where a need for PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) Line placement and instruction has been identified.
- Establish a treatment plan for patients and their families to follow.
- Serve as a resource person for medical and hospital staff regarding PICC placement and education.
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients.
- Interact with family and patient regarding care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge.
- Inform patient and family of hospital procedures.
- Make referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
Requirements:
- 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS - American Heart Association.
- Obtain Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) within one year of hire.
- Within three years of hire, obtain ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) to replace Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification.
