Duke Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Operating Room. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the proper handling of instruments and equipment.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including administering medications and positioning them for optimal surgical access.
- Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient care, including monitoring vital signs and responding to emergencies.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination during procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including surgical logs and patient information.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent experience.
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (NCCT or NBSTSA) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
