Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team as a Project Manager - Capital Investments. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for managing major capital investment projects across various areas of the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution: Oversee the successful execution of projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the required return on investment.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise contracted resources while onsite for facility improvement projects, maintaining a safe working environment through daily work permits and constant supervisor presence.
  • Maintenance Projects: Manage maintenance projects to resolve various problems in the mill, achieving timely completion and desired outcomes.
  • Document Management: Maintain technical documents and prints, ensuring they are easily accessible to all plant personnel.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to all Vallourec Star LP personnel on a daily basis, troubleshooting issues in the mill.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Project, with knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Independent Work: Capable of working independently in a self-directed environment, making decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Travel: Travel 10% of the time to visit potential suppliers, conduct acceptance tests, and benchmark other facilities.

Education, Training, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree: A 4-year bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is required.
  • Project Management Experience: 5-7 years of project management experience, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Industrial Experience: 2-3 years of industrial-related experience, with a focus on project management.
  • Training: Training in project management principles and practices.
  • Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
