About the Job
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to work as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Columbus, Ohio.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering radioactive substances to patients, operating nuclear medicine imaging equipment, and collaborating with the medical team to ensure accurate diagnostic results.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, ensuring correct dosage and safe handling.
- Monitor patients during the administration process, checking for any immediate adverse reactions or complications.
- Ensure the proper disposal of radioactive materials in accordance with safety protocols.
- Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment, such as gamma cameras and PET scanners, to capture detailed images of organs, tissues, and bones.
- Perform diagnostic imaging tests to detect diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular issues, and neurological disorders.
- Communicate effectively with the medical team to discuss patient conditions and help interpret diagnostic images.
- Provide post-procedure care instructions to patients, including guidance on hydration or any side effects related to the radiopharmaceutical.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A degree in a relevant field, such as nuclear medicine technology or a related field.
- Experience working with nuclear medicine imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
