Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled AV Systems Technician to join our team at TEKsystems. This role is essential for the installation and maintenance of professional audiovisual (AV) systems in commercial environments. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure the successful design and implementation of high-quality AV solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Attitudinal:

  • Exhibit a positive demeanor while performing job duties, serving as a role model for peers.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with project managers and sales personnel through clear communication and proactive problem-solving.
  • Handle customer interactions positively, directing any financial discussions to the project manager.

2) Organizational:

  • Review project specifications and system schematics before commencing work.
  • Notify the project manager of any missing components prior to installation.
  • Conduct site walkthroughs with the project manager to confirm readiness before installation begins.
  • Assist in developing the project plan and outline daily tasks for the team.
  • Document time spent on tasks using NetSuite and ensure timely completion of all assigned work.
  • Request necessary equipment and tools for the project.
  • Monitor project hours and manage technician assignments on-site.
  • Provide daily updates on work progress and any issues encountered.
  • Ensure the job site is left organized and secure, with all tools accounted for.

3) Administrative:

  • Complete daily status reports and time entries.
  • Maintain inventory and cleanliness of the service vehicle.
  • Train and guide fellow technicians on installation best practices.
  • Stay current with certifications and attend relevant training sessions.

4) Job Requirements:

• Maintain InfoComm CTS certification.

• Obtain OSHA 10 Certification within the first 90 days of employment.

• Ability to address practical challenges and adapt to various situations.

• Proficient in interpreting written and verbal instructions, as well as AV system designs.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Availability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with potential overtime for specific projects.

• Physical Requirements:

i. Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods.

ii. Dexterity to operate tools and handle equipment.

iii. Capability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

iv. Ability to work at heights using ladders or lifts.

v. Valid driver's license required.

vi. Willingness to perform occasional outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.

vii. All requirements may be adjusted to accommodate individuals with disabilities.
