Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Tower Maintenance Specialist to join our team at NextEdge. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the construction, repair, and maintenance of towers and accompanying structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and erect towers, install antennas, and mount hardware.
  • Work with basic hand tools and safety equipment, with a focus on telecom test gear knowledge.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with EHS requirements and industry standards.
  • Assist with testing of new and existing equipment, including sweep, PIM, or fiber testing.
  • Maintain OSHA safety requirements at all times, following EHS procedures and protocol.
  • Install RF and antenna system components, including antennas, TMA's, RRU's, diplexers, coax, hybrids, grounding, supports, weatherproofing, connectors, hardware, etc.
  • Understand and process RFDS, and read and execute construction drawings.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance, and coordinate with other technicians and engineers to ensure proper system operation.

Requirements:

  • TT1: No requirement.
  • TT2: 2 years of experience as a tower technician.
  • TT3: 4 years of experience as a tower technician.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Have knowledge of and ability to meet and pass all DOT requirements.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Competencies Required:

  • Ability to take and understand written and verbal direction.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawings and support documentation, RF data sheets, and basic electrical concepts.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Hard working and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work at heights greater than 100 ft.

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel Required:

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions except for unsafe or extreme weather conditions.
  • Physically able to climb 1000 vertical feet per day.
  • Ability to travel and work in remote locations outside of the metropolitan area.
  • Desire and ability to climb structures to heights in excess of 300' while carrying loads in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Full-time, 40 hours/week.
  • Travel is required 50% of the time.
