Position Overview:
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in an educational environment plays a crucial role in assessing and supporting students with communication challenges. This position involves conducting thorough evaluations and delivering tailored therapy services aligned with each student's individual care plan and medical directives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students' communication abilities, including articulation, fluency, voice, and both expressive and receptive language skills, to identify communication disorders and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders to share information, address concerns, and ensure compliance with established protocols.
- Organize and facilitate meetings for eligible students, including testing, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and parent conferences, to discuss evaluation outcomes and treatment strategies.
- Create and implement treatment plans and educational resources aimed at reducing the impact of communication disorders while adhering to regulatory standards.
- Instruct students on the effective use of communication technologies, such as hearing aids and augmentative communication devices.
- Maintain comprehensive records, including progress reports, treatment plans, and necessary documentation.
- Engage in professional development through workshops and seminars to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Provide speech and language therapy to students, focusing on improving their communication skills and overall academic success.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) License in the state of employment is mandatory.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred and may be required based on state or contractual obligations.
- Adherence to all relevant professional standards and practices.
- Completion of Amergis Staffing's Competency program when applicable.
- Current CPR certification, if necessary.
- Compliance with health requirements, including TB testing or health certificates as mandated.
- Must fulfill all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Successful completion of new hire training relevant to the position.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English are essential for effective interaction with colleagues and clients.
- Proficiency in computer applications is required.

- Serving students from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade
Office Environment:
- Private workspace provided, unless shared with another SLP.
Licensure Requirement:
- Must possess Ohio SLP Licensure.
