As a Custodial Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our schools, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deep clean horizontal surfaces, including counters, desks, and bathroom fixtures
  • Deep clean of carpets, tile, and LVT floors
  • Perform high dusting in all areas of schools
  • Assist with moving classroom furniture
  • Assist with trash removal
  • Perform all duties and procedures within health and safety standards as per OSHA and/or MIOSHA
  • Consistent and reliable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work will be performed indoors, although there will be required outdoor activities as well.

Mental Functions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile, and negotiate.

Evaluation and Terms of Employment

In accordance with the Custodial and Food Service Agreement. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
