Job Title: Breast Ultrasound Tech

At DHR Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Breast Ultrasound Tech to join our Radiology team. As a Breast Ultrasound Tech, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound procedures to diagnose and treat breast-related conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform all Breast Ultrasound procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare necessary supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures.
  • Perform quality control and maintenance on equipment.
  • Responsible for the care and cleanliness of equipment, supplies, and work area.
  • Accurately comprehend and interpret verbal orders and directions.
  • Assume responsibility for the collection and processing of patient specimens.
  • Complete accurate documentation on patient records according to policy.
  • Ensure exams are verified and completed for charging on PACS/RIS systems.
Requirements:
  • Associate of Science degree in radiology, diagnostic ultrasound, or a certificate of successful completion from an accredited school of ultrasound or recognized educational program.
  • Current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) general certification or American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification in breast ultrasound required.
  • Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification in Mammography preferred.
  • Must meet all MQSA Technologist requirements, if certified by ARRT in Mammography.
  • BLS certification required, ACLS recommended.
  • At least one (2) years of experience as General or Breast Sonographer.
  • At least one (1) year experience in a healthcare setting as Mammographer preferred.
  • Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
  • Secretarial experience and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English required. Spanish preferred.
Working Conditions:

The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.

This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
