Consulting Utility Forester

Join Eocene Environmental Group, an employee-owned company, in a dynamic role that combines forestry expertise with utility line clearance. As a Consulting Utility Forester, you will work independently, traveling to various locations, and collaborating with property owners and public agencies to ensure safe and efficient delivery of power.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contact property owners and public agencies to discuss pruning and removals.
  • Conduct tree and brush inventories to identify potential hazards.
  • Evaluate and inspect trees for hazards, and develop plans for removal or pruning.
  • Manage data and ensure accurate records of work completed.
  • Enforce on-the-job safety practices and safeguard employees and the public from hazards.
  • Operate equipment, service trucks, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
  • Degree in forestry or a related field, or equivalent experience in utility line clearance.
  • Species identification skills, invasive species knowledge, and understanding of tree growth rates.
  • Ability to obtain ISA Arborist Certification within 12 months.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, travel, and adapt to rugged terrain and inclement weather.
  • Proficient in map navigation and Microsoft Office, with experience in data collection software (GIS) a plus.
