Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit team at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. As a RN in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Develop and implement individualized plans of care to address these needs and promote optimal patient outcomes.
  • Implementation and Evaluation: Implement the plan of care, utilizing evidence-based practices and nursing interventions to promote patient safety and well-being. Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the plan and make adjustments as needed.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination and communication. Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure that patient needs are met and expectations are managed.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to hospital policies and procedures. Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report any concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document patient information, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Prepare and present reports to the healthcare team as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or currently enrolled in a BSN program.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience as an RN in an ICU environment, with a preference for experience in a pediatric healthcare ICU setting.
  • Certifications: Current RN licensure in the State of Florida or Multi-State Enhanced Nursing License Compact (eNLC). CPR BLS certification from the American Heart Association. PALS certification from the American Heart Association within 2 years of hire.
