Job Title: Project Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to join our team at McShane Construction Company. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze working drawings, including architectural, structural, mechanical, civil, electrical, and landscaping plans, to ensure details, buildability, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with the project team to review and implement the Building Specification, ensuring material, subcontractor, and equipment criteria are met and potential project document conflicts are identified.
  • Oversee the management of the jobsite, including trailer, signage, material staging, vehicle access, and temporary utility access, to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Develop and implement safety measures and applicable company programs to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and a safe workplace.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, focusing on identifying critical path requirements to meet desired schedules.
  • Conduct regular project inspections, addressing owner concerns and ensuring project progress aligns with project goals.
  • Monitor project labor productivity and budget deviations, keeping the company informed of any changes.
  • Review project construction documents to identify required material quantities and monitor actual project material requirements, reporting any deviations from original budgets.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance programs to ensure project quality and compliance with project requirements.
  • Review project shop drawings and construction documents to coordinate between different disciplines, ensuring accurate project layout and field conditions.
  • Oversee the completion of all project disciplines necessary to receive a certificate of occupancy.
Requirements:
  • Design/build experience preferred, with rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and concrete experience also preferred.
  • College education a plus.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, methods, and local market conditions.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven record of building projects on schedule.
  • Ability to identify, investigate, and quantify project problems and corresponding alternatives and consequences.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work productively with others and foster solid client relationships.
  • Proficiency in construction management software, including Procore, Timberline, Bluebeam, CMiC, PlanGrid, Textura, and Field ID.
  • Ability to use the internet and Microsoft Office 365.
