More about the Accountant Role:

Wearing multiple hats and embracing various challenges are essential aspects of the Accountant position.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
  • Delivering exceptional service; this role requires both analytical thinking and practical execution, from creating journal entries to establishing bookkeeping policies.
  • Collaborating with the internal team to adjust client engagements and ensure lasting partnerships.
  • Becoming a subject matter expert in QuickBooks and leveraging your expertise to identify issues and propose improvements.

The Specifics of the Accountant Role:

  • Develop and maintain a chart of accounts for accurate financial reporting.
  • Record cash transactions and manage bank deposits.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheet accounts for accuracy.
  • Prepare and issue invoices, managing the accounts receivable process.
  • Execute month-end closing entries.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements and other reports as needed.
  • Maintain the annual budget, track variances, and report significant issues.
  • Process payroll and ensure accurate general ledger entries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn QuickBooks Desktop/Online.
  • Understanding of nonprofit accounting principles.
