About the Role

At Equifax, we're seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering organization, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our large-scale, distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Uptime Management: Manage system uptime across cloud-native (AWS, GCP) and hybrid architectures, ensuring seamless operation and minimal downtime.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Build infrastructure as code (IAC) patterns that meet security and engineering standards using tools like Terraform, scripting with cloud CLI, and programming with cloud SDK.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Build CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment of application and cloud architecture patterns, using platform (Jenkins) and cloud-native toolchains.
  • Automated Tooling: Build automated tooling to deploy service requests to push a change into production, and create comprehensive runbooks to manage detect, remediate, and restore services.
  • Problem-Solving and On-Call: Solve complex distributed architecture service maps, and be on call for high-severity application incidents, improving runbooks to reduce Mean Time To Resolve (MTTR).
  • Blameless Postmortems: Lead availability blameless postmortems and own the call to action to remediate recurrences.
Requirements
  • Education: BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent job experience required.
  • Experience: 7-10 years of experience in software engineering, systems administration, database administration, and networking, with 4+ years of experience developing and/or administering software in public cloud.
  • Skills: Experience in monitoring infrastructure and application uptime and availability to ensure functional and performance objectives, proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and practices, and cloud certification strongly preferred.
