We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at UNC Health. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of patient care by performing phlebotomy procedures and patient point-of-care testing.
Key Responsibilities- Consult with healthcare providers and patients to resolve phlebotomy service issues.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of work, investigating problems with equipment, patient results, specimens, and workflow.
- Participate in teams or special projects, and may perform teaching and training of new employees, phlebotomy students, and other healthcare providers.
- Review test results to ensure accuracy of reporting and timely correction of errors or report results to healthcare providers.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures, quality control, and equipment maintenance in the laboratory.
- Responsible for and/or ensures completion of daily work and assigned tasks, monitoring daily operation of laboratory work area.
- One (1) year of phlebotomy experience required, or graduation from a phlebotomy program with no previous experience.
- Phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
- Competitive hourly rate of $24.63 per hour (hiring range).
- Eligible for shift premium rates.
- Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
- Onsite work assignment.
- Day job with regular working hours.
